Workshops & Events

Weekend Workshops

Our workshops allow our dancers to spend an entire weekend dedicated to a specific style of dance. AUSDA brings in talented instructors from all over to help our dancers
expand their dance vocabulary during the day and live jazz bands for them to dance to in the evening.

For more information on our upcoming workshops, check out our calendar!

In addition to our weekly dances, AUSDA hosts various workshops throughout the semester to provide more in-depth learning opportunities to our members.

Lindy Hop on the Plains was an annual Lindy Hop workshop hosted by AU Swing Dance Association. This event is geared towards beginner and intermediate dancers, which creates a learning environment that caters both to the students of Auburn University and dancers from across the country.

We hope to bring back Lindy Hop on the Plains in future years!

Lollies and Lemonade is an annual Balboa workshop hosted by AU Swing Dance Association. This event is geared towards beginner and intermediate dancers, with the hopes of spreading more awareness about Balboa and encouraging our dancers to branch out into other styles of swing dance.

Mini

Workshops

Our mini workshops cover a wide variety of topics in a shorter amount of time than our weekend workshops. This allows us to give our dancers a more in-depth look at specific topics. In the past, some of our topics that we have covered have been: Balboa, Charleston, Lindy Hop, and Solo Jazz.

For more information on upcoming mini workshops, check out our calendar!

Events

AUSDA hosts numerous events throughout the semester to provide additional dancing and member involvement opportunties for our dancers. Some of the events we have done in the past include: Syrup & Swing, Mama Mocha’s Thursdays, Holiday dances and Shoe-sueding parties.
